I believe stories are important. They are not just entertaining; they become part of who we are. I still remember my favorite bedtime stories, and I shared those stories with my son.
I read Dr. Seuss books like “The Cat In The Hat” and told him our family’s story about how my grandparents came to America. These stories teach us lessons and shape how we view the world.
That’s why this moment in Chapter 1 stands out to me. Before Kali learns what is true, her mother gives her something more valuable than knowing. She gives her hope.
Hope doesn’t answer every question or make fear go away. Sometimes it just gives us the courage to keep going. This is why stories continue to be important, no matter our age.
The best stories do more than entertain; they stay with us. When we need them the most, they help us believe in something greater than ourselves.
