Even Gisenes, the daughter of Mother Nature calls Tontorus “troublesome.”
In Kali’s mind he was more than “troublesome”, he was the one making her sick.
And she hated him for that.
But the story doesn’t stop with labeling him.
Little by little, we begin to understand why he is the way he is.
It’s so easy to put people into neat little boxes.
A grumpy coworker.
An impatient customer.
A child acting out.
Or a neighbor who’s always complaining.
We rarely know the pain that someone is carrying before they cross our path.
That doesn’t excuse hurtful behavior.
But it can change the way we respond.
What I like about this scene is asks us to look a little deeper.
